Enumerators of the census were instructed to take the
census as of a certain date regardless of when they
visited. If the visit was made after that date, babies
born after that date were not included, but deaths were.
Census dates were:
1790-1820---1st Monday in August
1830-1900---June 1
1910---April 15
1920---January 20
1930-1980---April 1
